Wolfe Tones surprise fans with secret intimate gig in famous London pub

The trad icons performed a special show on Sunday night to an audience including Aisling Bea and Fontaines D.C.

The Wolfe Tones shocked 200 fans in London with an unforgettable surprise on Sunday, delivering a secret show to the lucky revellers including some famous Irish faces.

Ahead of their massive Finsbury Park show this summer and their highly anticipated Electric Picnic return, the traditional Irish music icons performed the top-secret gig at The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park’s beloved Irish pub.

Amongst the audience at the special and intimate gig were fellow Irish icons comedian and actress Aisling Bea and rockers Fontaines D.C.

In a truly intimate and fitting setting, The Wolfe Tones treated the crowd to a night of soul-stirring melodies and rousing anthems, which have enthralled generations of Irish music fans across the world with their own unique style for 60 years.

They performed a selection of classics and fan favourites, such as Come Out Ye Black and Tans and My Heart Is In Ireland and even debuted a brand-new song, a heartfelt tribute to their loyal fans as they commence their farewell tour.

The evening’s charged atmosphere, rich with Irish heritage, was the perfect lead-up to their final tour, setting the stage for what promises to be a historic final London show at Finsbury Park this July, set to be the largest gathering celebrating traditional Irish music in the UK.

This exclusive event, organised by Festival Republic, celebrated sixty years of the iconic band’s influence on Irish rebel music.
